Ryan Derenburger was born with multiple disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Seizures, profound Mental Retardation, and a severe sensory integration disorder.
Ryan learned how to sit up, balance, and walk because of horseback riding. He was nine years old at the time of his terminal diagnosis with a prognosis that he would probably be gone by end of 2003. One of his church buddies was diagnosed with same thing only to pass a few months later.
Ryan's mother knew she didn't have time to play around. Establishing Ryan's Ranch International in honor of Ryan's unconditional love and hope that he gave to others, allowed her to grieve while finding solace in helping others.
Ryan has outwitted, outlasted and outplayed his prognosis by six years! The fourth of five Derenburger children, Ryan loves all things sports, from football to NASCAR! He loves pretty girls and giving hugs to ‘said' pretty girls. He loves movies, music, and he's definitely a momma's boy! He attends Collierville High School and enjoys horseback riding. His oldest brother is a former US Marine, two of his sisters work for the charity, and his baby sister plays competitive soccer.
